League City schools to have increased patrols Monday due to rumored threats by Wyoming teenagers

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KIAH) — Police in League City said they will increase patrols around schools Monday in response to reports that two teens may be headed to the city with a gun.

Police in Wyoming said Otis Edlund and Quintin Wyrick, both 16, stole a white 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle and a gun and possibly are traveling to Texas.

League City police say they want to make it clear that there are no documented threats against any League City schools by the two teenagers. The only link the teens have to the city is an acquaintance in Wyoming who has relatives in League City.

But police will have officers at all schools because of concerns in the community.

“Our goal is to have an officer available at each location during drop off and pick up, as well as patrol officers increasing their presence at the campuses during the interim hours,” League City police chief Cliff Woitena said.

Law enforcement agencies in the area are still investigating any potential tips or leads to this case.
