CHICAGO — Five people were shot overnight after an apparent argument broke out in the Little Village neighborhood on Chicago’s Southwest Side.
According to Chicago police, officers responded to a person shot just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3500 block of West 30th Street.
Police say they found multiple people shot, with a preliminary investigation indicating that a 30-year-old man got into a verbal altercation with an unidentified man, who then shot at the 30-year-old man before fleeing. Police say the other four shooting victims were in the immediate surrounding area when they were struck by gunfire.
The 30-year-old man and three other victims, a 22-year-old woman, a 48-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, were taken to area hospitals in good condition, according to police. Another woman, 30 was taken to an area hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
Police say nobody is in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
The shooting comes just hours after a man was found shot to death in Little Village early Saturday morning.
