CHICAGO — Chicago police are warning South Shore residents after three armed robberies were reported last week.
In each of the cases, two to four people approached someone, either implied or displayed a firearm and demanded their belongings, according to an alert from the Chicago Police Department.
The incidents happened at the following times and locations.
- Around 1:50 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the 7000 block of South Phillips Avenue
- Around 4 p.m. on Feb. 7 in the 2500 block of East 71st Street
- Around 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 9 in the 7400 block of South Merrill Avenue
Chicago police are reminding people to be aware of their surroundings, immediately report suspicious activity, remain calm if approached by an assailant, remember unique physical characteristics, like scars, a limp, acne or their teeth, never chase them, and call 911.
