Sugar Land man gets 2 years in federal prison for joining ISIS, US attorney says

HOUSTON (KIAH) — A man from Sugar Land has been sentenced for receiving training from a foreign terrorist organization.

Warren Christopher Clark, 34, admitted he illegally crossed the border into Syria and underwent military training from ISIS. He then renounced his U.S. citizenship and

Clark plead guilty in October of last year and was now ordered by a judge to serve 10 years in federal prison.

“By seeking and receiving military training from a foreign terrorist organization, Clark, a former teacher, betrayed his nation and allied himself with one of the most violent U.S. adversaries,” said Special Agent in Charge Douglas Williams of the FBI Houston field office. 

Following his sentence, he’s going to undergo a supervised release.
