THEME park fans can look forward to a brand new water ride opening at a top UK attraction this summer.
Last month, Paultons Park, in Hampshire, revealed a brand-new ride for 2024 called Splash Lagoon.
Set to open in May, the Jurassic-themed flume ride promises to introduce kids to different species of dinosaurs, while also taking them through twisting rapids and down a final drop.
A new CGI image has been released by the theme park, giving theme park fans a glimpse into what they can expect.
The imagetwo parkgoers onboard a small yellow boat sailing past several large dinosaur figures, before appearing to go down a drop a the end of the ride.
Deputy managing director at Paultons Park, James Mancey, said: “Splash Lagoon is a fantastic addition to the Lost Kingdom experience.
“The detailing and theming around the new flume is in keeping with the Jurassic-theme and delivers a truly immersive adventure.
“Splash Lagoon is great fun for junior riders and balances the thrill and excitement that rides such as our suspended dinosaur coaster, Flight of the Pterosaur, offers for older children and adults.”
The family ride will be suitable for anyone 90cm and taller.
But this isn’t the only new attraction coming to the theme park this year, as a steam-punk cafe and restaurant called Grande Central is set to open from Easter.
Located betweenSprings and Peppa Pig World, the restaurant will have a lounge with chairs, booths and tables.
The park is currently closed for the winter, but it is set to reopen to the public this Saturday, with a series of half-term breaks designed for young families.
From February 10, 2024, visitors will be able to explore Peppa Pig World as part of the Paultons Break Sessions.
Guests will find Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club,‘s Flying Coach, Grandpa Pig’s Little Train, and Peppa’s Big Balloon in Peppa Pig World.
Kids can also enjoy play areas, as well as meet and greets with Peppa Pig and George Pig.
When the theme park fully reopens, parkgoers will also be able to enjoy other attractions including Tornado Springs – a world set in a midwest desert resort town in the 1950s.
Other themed worlds include the Lost Kingdom, Critter Creek, and Little Africa.
Paultons isn’t the only UK theme park stepping up its offering in 2024, as the biggest and fastest rollercoaster is due to launch at Thorpe Park.
Hyperia is expected to be ready sometime at the beginning of the year, although an exact date is yet to be been confirmed.
Elsewhere, thrill-seeker favourite, Nemesis, is set to reopen as Nemesis Reborn at Alton Towers.
Photographs from theme park fan forums have revealed a whole new look for the track, which will be black, with blood-red motifs painted down the side.
This will continue the ride’s theme of “an alien creature excavated from the ground” when it reopens this spring.
